Biography:
Natalie Randolph is a remarkable individual who has made significant contributions in the fields of education, athletics, and breaking gender barriers. She has been a trailblazer and an inspiration to many, proving that with determination and passion, one can achieve anything they set their mind to.
Born in Washington, D.C., Randolph displayed a strong passion for sports from a young age. She attended the University of Virginia, where she excelled as a hurdler on the track and field team. Her dedication and skill earned her recognition and respect, setting the stage for her future successes.
After completing her college athletic career, Randolph embarked on a professional football journey. She played as a wide receiver for six seasons with the DC Divas of the Independent Women’s Football League from 2003 to 2008. Her time on the field showcased her abilities as both an athlete and a leader.
Randolph’s coaching journey began in 2006 when she joined the staff of H.D. Woodson High School in Washington, D.C. as a wide receivers coach. Her passion for the game and her ability to connect with her players quickly became evident, paving the way for her future as a groundbreaking head coach.
In March 2010, Randolph made history when she was named the head football coach at Calvin Coolidge High School in Washington, D.C. This appointment made her the only female head coach of a high school football team at the time and only the third woman ever to coach high school football.
Randolph’s tenure at Coolidge High School was filled with accomplishments both on and off the field. Despite facing initial skepticism and doubts, she led her team to success, bookending her coaching career with appearances in the DCIAA playoffs. The team’s overall GPA also improved under her guidance, emphasizing her commitment to not only athletic success but also academic excellence.
Throughout her coaching career, Randolph received numerous accolades and recognition for her groundbreaking efforts. In 2011, she received the Women of Distinction Award from the American Association of University Women and NASPA at their National Conference for College Women Student Leaders. This prestigious award acknowledged her significant contributions to breaking barriers and creating opportunities for women in sports.
Aside from her impact in athletics, Randolph has also made significant strides in the field of education. She currently serves as the Director of Equity, Justice & Community at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C. Her commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable environment for students further showcases her dedication to making a positive impact on society.
