Kerri Lee Walsh Jennings is an American professional beach volleyball player who has left an indelible mark on the sport. Born on August 15, 1978, in Santa Clara, California, she has become a legend in the world of beach volleyball and has achieved remarkable success throughout her career.
Walsh Jennings grew up in Scotts Valley, just north of Santa Cruz, before her family relocated to San Jose. She attended Archbishop Mitty High School, where she excelled not only in volleyball but also in basketball. She led her school’s teams to multiple state championships in both sports. In recognition of her outstanding athletic abilities, Walsh Jennings was named the Gatorade National High School Volleyball Player of the Year in 1996, the inaugural year of the award. During her high school years, she faced off against her future beach volleyball partner, Misty May-Treanor, setting the stage for their incredible partnership.
