Kelli’s journey to success began in high school, where she led Thomas High School to back-to-back state championships in 1980 and 1981. With Kelli leading the way, the team achieved an impressive three-year record of 77-9, solidifying their place in Oklahoma state high school lore. Kelli’s incredible scoring ability was on full display during these championships, as she averaged a remarkable 37.6 points per game. Her outstanding performance earned her the prestigious Parade High School All-America honors in 1981.
After her extraordinary high school career, Kelli continued to excel at the collegiate level. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and became a key player for the Lady Bulldogs.
