Jennifer Lynn Suhr (née Stuczynski) was born on February 5, 1982, in Fredonia, New York. She is a former American pole vaulter who achieved great success in her career. Suhr has been an Olympic and World champion, has been ranked as the number one pole vaulter in the world, and has held the title of the top American pole vaulter since 2006. Throughout her career, she won a total of 17 US National Championships, including 7 Indoor and 10 Outdoor titles.
Suhr’s journey in athletics began at a young age. She developed an interest in sports early on and started playing softball at only six years old. By the age of nine, she was already competing in an adult golf league with her grandfather. Suhr’s passion for sports continued to grow during her time at Fredonia High School, where she participated in various sports such as softball, basketball, soccer, and track and field. In her senior year, she clinched the New York State pentathlon title in 2000.
