Laila Amaria Ali, born on December 30, 1977, in Miami Beach, Florida, is an American television personality and retired professional boxer. She is widely regarded as one of the greatest female boxers of all time. Laila Ali is the daughter of the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali and his third wife, Veronica Porché. Raised as a Muslim, she later left Islam, despite initially facing her father’s disapproval.
During her boxing career, which spanned from 1999 to 2007, Laila Ali achieved remarkable success. She retired undefeated, holding the Women’s Boxing Council (WBC), Women’s International Boxing Association (WIBA), International Women’s Boxing Federation (IWBF), and International Boxing Association (IBA) female super middleweight titles, as well as the IWBF light heavyweight title. Her combination of skill, speed, and power inside the ring solidified her place among the boxing elite.
Before stepping into the world of boxing, Ali pursued a different path. At the age of 16, she worked as a manicurist and later went on to graduate with a business degree from California’s Santa Monica College. Ali even ran her own nail salon prior to her boxing career.
