Rodica Arba (née Puşcatu) is a retired Romanian rower who left an indelible mark on the sport. Born on May 5, 1962, in Petricani, Neamț County, Romania, Arba’s passion for rowing developed at a young age. She found both inspiration and motivation in Sanda Toma, a prominent figure in Romanian rowing. With an unwavering determination, Arba embarked on a remarkable journey that led her to compete at multiple Olympic Games and World Rowing Championships.
Arba made her Olympic debut at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow as a member of the Romanian women’s eight. Her talent and skill were on display as the team won a bronze medal, marking the beginning of her Olympic success. Arba continued to showcase her prowess on the international stage, particularly in the coxless pairs category.
In 1981, Arba partnered with Elena Horvat and participated in the coxless pair event at the World Rowing Championships held in Oberschleißheim, Germany.
