From a young age, Salazar was a passionate fan of professional wrestling, or lucha libre, which led her to join a wrestling school in her hometown. Notably, she was the only female student in the school, which meant that she had to wrestle against male competitors. Under the guidance of her trainers Bello Kalifa, Centurión Negro, and Carnicero Aguilar, Salazar honed her skills and embraced the challenge of wrestling against men. Standing at just 1.55 meters (5 feet 1 inch), she proved her resilience and determination within the male-dominated wrestling industry.

Teaming up with Flor de Loto, she faced off against Reina Salvaje and La Intrusa in an exhilarating tag team match. In 1999, Princesa Sugehit participated in AAA’s inaugural Reina de Reinas (Queen of Queens) tournament, although she unfortunately lost to Miss Janeth in the qualifying round.
On November 23, 2001, at the Guerra de Titanes event, Princesa Sugehit joined forces with Esther Moreno and Estrellita to defeat Martha Villalobos, Mujer Demente, and Tiffany in a gripping tag team match. Throughout her career, she also wrestled for Lucha Libre Feminil (LLF), a local promotion in Monterrey, where she held the LLF Extreme Championship, the LLF Juvenil Championship, and the LLF Tag Team Championship alongside her partner Poly Star. During her time in LLF, Princesa Sugehit developed a long-standing rivalry with Canadian wrestler Dark Angel, culminating in a monumental Luchas de Apuestas (Bet Match) in 2004. This intense encounter lasted forty-five minutes and saw Princesa Sujei successfully pin Dark Angel, resulting in the unmasking of her opponent.
