Shivangi Pathak is an Indian mountaineer born in Hisar, Haryana in August 2002. She has made remarkable achievements at a young age, becoming an inspiration for many. At the age of 16, she etched her name in history by becoming India’s youngest person to climb the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, on 16 May 2018 from the Nepal side.
From a young age, Pathak displayed a passion for adventure and a determination to overcome challenges. Raised in Hisar, she cultivated an adventurous spirit while growing up amidst the scenic landscapes of Haryana. This love for adventure eventually led her to the majestic heights of the Himalayas.
Pathak’s journey to conquer Mount Everest was not an easy one. She underwent rigorous training and preparation, which included climbing Stok Khangri, a 6,053-meter peak in Ladakh. This served as a stepping stone to her ultimate goal of scaling the mighty Everest. The entire Everest expedition took one month, with Pathak’s ascent beginning in April 2018 from the Nepal base camp.
